Barnaby was the fastest little bunny in the forest. Whoosh! He hopped this way. Zoom! He hopped that way. But Barnaby had a little “problem.”

His left ear stood tall and straight, pointing right at the clouds. But his right ear… oh, that one was sleepy. It stayed flopped down, hanging right over his face. Plop.

“Stand up, ear!” Barnaby would say in front of the mirror. He would lift his ear with his paw. But as soon as he let go… Plop! It fell right back down.

A Hidden Sound

Barnaby felt a bit sad. All the other bunnies had perfectly straight ears. He thought his ear was broken.

Tired of trying to fix it, he laid his head down on the soft, velvet grass to rest. His floppy ear pressed firmly against the ground, snuggled right into the dirt.
